Title: RE: Final Cut vs DS(Thanks for the responses)
Audio guys are all excited about how Final Cut Pro allows you to extract audio OMF files just like an Avid Media Composer. Audio guys are also very happy with the sophistication of Final Cut Pro when used with audio. But if you really want to do sweetening, you're not using Final Cut Pro, you're using ProTools. And you'd use the same tool if you were taking audio OMF files from Final Cut Pro, Media Composer, the DS-Nitris or any other editor.
Final Cut Pro is a very good tool for if you want to do editing for under $20,000, which includes any resolution all the way up to high definition (and enough storage space). But it does not do what the DS does, it's not designed for that.

I was really asking this question becasue I've only used FinalCut a few
times and always hated it. The person who asked was actually an audio guy
that edits with FinalCut when ever he get a video job. He was asking for
some of our overflow and I was trying to explain that our client wouldn't
want something cut on FinalCut after seeing what we usually give them from
DS. Anyway, as usuall you guys have surpassed my expectations as far as
answering my question.
Thanks
